The main ingredient which makes that burger all the more yummy is mayonnaise. There are a lot of people who only consume those heavy laden burgers because of the flavoured mayonnaise present in it. Experts say that consuming mayonnaise on an average of three times a week will only lead to heart diseases. It is believed the fat content in one scoop of mayonnaise will form a lining around your heart and thereby lead to heart attacks. This is one of the main health effects of mayonnaise!
Did you know that the primary ingredient in mayonnaise is 'oil'? When you consume a sandwich that contains mayonnaise, you are actually eating more oil than you do on a daily basis. Mayonnaise contains about 40 percent more oil which is way too much for an average person to consume. Hence, it can cause a lot of health hazards.

Apart from clogging your arteries, the other way how mayonnaise affects your health is that it allows you to gain weight 'rapidly'. Research shows that consuming this white yummy paste will cause your stomach to stretch and make you overeat.
The other reason obese people have pot bellies is because of mayonnaise. It stores the extra fat on the abdominal region causing the formation of your sagging belly.
Here are some of the ways how mayonnaise is bad for health:

 Gallbladder Stones 
The health effects of mayonnaise will add to the pain caused by gallbladder stones. The contents present in mayo will not help in dissolving the stones either, so it is best to avoid it.

Suffering From Gout
 If you are suffering from gout, it is best to stay away from foods that are fried. The foods that contain mayonnaise will only increase the inflammation in the foot, due to the high sodium content.

So Bad For Gastritis 
When you are suffering from gastritis, it is best to stay away from foods which contain mayonnaise. The reason being - sodium present in mayonnaise is not good for the lining of your stomach. It will lead to heart burn and other stomach infections.

Not Good For Diarrhoea 
When healing from diarrhoea, it is best to stay away from foods which are oily in nature. The reason mayonnaise is bad for your health is that it contains a lot of oil, not allowing your tummy to bind.

Bad For Diabetics 
Mayonnaise is bad if you are diabetic. One serving of mayonnaise or one burger filled with the sauce will only increase your level of sugar, making you feel weak and lethargic.

Stomach Ulcers
 When you are suffering from stomach ulcers, it is safe to stay away from mayonnaise. The fat in mayonnaise will only cause a rise in inflammation of the ulcers. This is one of the health effects of mayonnaise!


During Pregnancy 
When you are pregnant, you are allowed to put on only a certain amount of weight for the benefit of the baby. The health hazard of mayonnaise during pregnancy is that it makes the pregnant woman crave more junk food which is not good for health.

Cholesterol 
It increases cholesterol like crazy. Eating mayo will also reduce your energy levels. If you are addicted to mayonnaise, it is best to avoid it as it will only affect your health in one way or the other. The increase of cholesterol is due to the fatty oil present in the mayo.
Heart Diseases The other health hazard of mayonnaise is that it leads to heart diseases, which also involves the risk of heart attacks. The omega fats present in mayo can lead to heart diseases and cancer. This is one of the reasons mayonnaise is bad for your health.

Weight Gain
 One of the main health effects of mayonnaise is weight gain. In every junk food, you will find this ingredient widely present. Mayonnaise contains fat which is very difficult to burn. Moreover, mayonnaise is the main reason for pot bellies as the fat gets stored in the abdominal region of the body
